All across Europe, you may find that kitchen towels look a little different than they do in North America! Flat woven towels designed to absorb and dry well can also bring that subtle elegance that we love when visiting an Italian cafe, or a bistro in France.

Made from a selective type of cotton fiber that is offers exceptional absorbency and a softness that is gentle on your hands and dishes.
Machine washable for convenience, these towels can be dried in a dryer, though some shrinkage is expected. To maintain their size and remove wrinkles, simply hang dry or quickly iron them.
'Designed with purpose' is something we care about at Lincoln & Palm. When crafting these kitchen towels, we tracked down a supplier that has been weaving kitchen towels for European kitchens for decades. We then developed and tested this herringbone construction so that it has a great absorbency and drying rate, which is crucial for kitchen towels that are often used frequently and spontaneously. We achieve this by adjusting the fiber and yarn tightness so that water can absorb within the cotton.
The absorbency we strive for creates a certain looseness in the yarn that, oops, makes it shrink a bit more and cause wrinkling. But we also confirmed that ironing the fabric would smooth it back to full length. Not wanting to sacrifice our absorbency, we decided to make each product oversized so that when shrinkage does occur, it is offset. Each towel is listed as 27x19" but is closer to 29x20.5" out of the packaging.
Speaking of packaging, each set is packaged in a fully biodegradable and compostable bag (EN13432 and BPI Compostable). We see so much poly bagging now that we wanted to do our part to make sure the plastic we put out there is breaking down.
With 6 color options to choose from, each set includes three (3) classic stripe towels and (3) patterned towels. All towels in the set are the same colorway.
